The TEFA application window runs February 4 – March 17, 2026. Here's how to apply and what to expect.
Before You Apply
-
Confirm eligibility. Your child must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully present, eligible to attend a Texas public or charter school (or pre-K/K), and reside in Texas. You must be a Texas resident. Full eligibility details

Know your school plans. You don't have to have a school picked yet, but you'll indicate whether you're considering private school, homeschool, or another approved option.
